Lodge Card Club has acquired the largest club in San Antonio, Rounders Card Club, and will takeover operations starting on July 3rd, 2024.
The San Antonio poker community can anticipate the same huge tournaments, robust cash game offerings, and incredible service that current Lodge Card Club members have come to expect.
Here is what Lodge Card Club Chairman Doug Polk has to say about the expansion:
Lodge Card Club’s long-term goal is to offer poker to as many people as possible, starting with the largest cities in Texas and expanding from there.
San Antonio, the third largest city in the state, is a perfect place for our second location. We ultimately decided that, rather than trying to start from scratch, it made sense to acquire the largest room, then try to make improvements.
The plan for Lodge Card Club San Antonio is to move the current room next door to a much bigger space, which will allow for bigger tournaments and special events.
A key part of this expansion was to include local investors. We’re happy to announce that San Antonio local Chaz Gill, otherwise known as Big Daddy Chaz, has come on board as an investor/partner and to help advise us on fulfilling the needs and wants of the local poker community.
Where Will Lodge Card Club San Antonio Be Located?
For the immediate future, Lodge Card Club San Antonio will be located in the same unit as Rounders Card Club (3723 Colony Dr Suite 101). This is just off the 10 freeway on the Northwest side of the city.
After the takeover, one of the top priorities will be preparing to move over to the unit next door (formerly an Office Depot), which will allow us to double the number of tables and build a 4,000 square foot restaurant.
Massive tournaments and events are sure to follow.
Meet Up Game and $50,000 Guaranteed Tournament Coming in Late July
To celebrate the new location, Lodge partners and poker vloggers Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme will be hosting a $1/$2 Meet Up Game on Friday, July 26th, at 2PM.
That will be followed by a $300 buy-in, $50,000 guaranteed tournament on Saturday, July 27th. This single-day tournament will commence at 12:15PM with late registration open until around 4:45PM. Structure sheet coming soon.
