The Lodge ran a special tournament series to ring in the month of February, as the WACKY WEEKEND of Poker rolled into the best card club in Texas.
The series featured 11 events, each with unique rules and structure. The end result was a tournament festival that wasn’t quite like anything else we’ve seen before in Round Rock, TX.
Here’s a look at what went down during the Wacky Weekend:
Mystery Bounty Chaos (February 4)
The Mystery Bounty Chaos event acted as the main event of the Wacky Weekend of Poker lineup.
A total of 359 entries competed for $89,032 in prize pool plus bounties. The tournament ended in a three-way chop.
Jay Lockett (1st – $10,061) took home the lion’s share of the prize money and the tournament trophy.
Other top finishers included Andrew Tran (2nd – $7,800) and Lorraine Widener (3rd – $7,800).
Deuces Wild $200 Buy-in (February 1)
The Deuces Wild event ended in a six-way ICM chop.
Kyle Stein (1st – $4,322) and Thomas Hale (2nd – $3,994) finished first and second, but third-place money finisher Nathan Gamble (3rd – $3,612) won a series of flips to claim the tournament trophy.
Other top finishers included C. Hornbostel (4th – $3,242), Casey Diener (5th – $2,442) and Joshua Sieber (6th – $2,420).
Double Board PLO Bomb Pot $200 Buy-in (February 1)
The Double Board PLO Bomb Pot event finished with a 13-way ICM chop!
The top five finishers included Paul Ferris (1st – $4,736), Selim Mahtab (2nd – $2,729), Adam Jacobs (3rd – $2,352), Jeremy Carmody (4th – $2,216) and Cody Wood (5th – $2,189).
Flip & Go $100 Buy-In (February 2)
The Flip & Go event ended in a heads-up chop.
Andrew Moreno (1st – $3,361) took the first-place share of the prize money, while Jason Roussos (2nd – $2,079) took home second-place money but won the tournament trophy.
Other top finishers included Rich Allsbrook (3rd – $1,449), Evan Tan (4th – $1,060) and Chad Garyet (5th – $777).
Forced Tag Team $300 Buy-In (February 2)
The Forced Tag Team event played to an outright winner.
The team of Chad Garyet and Selim Mahtab took home the first-place prize of $1,670.
Fun Under The Gun $200 Buy-in (February 2)
Chris Linder took down the outright win in the Fun Under the Gun event, earning $2,992 for the victory.
Other top finishers included David Solomon (2nd – $1,760) and Randall Flynn (3rd – $1,091).
Nit Game $300 Buy-in (February 3)
The first-ever Nit Game tournament drew 68 players.
Jeremy “Woody” Morre took down the victory, securing a $5,901 payday.
Dealer’s Choice Mix $200 Buy-in (February 3)
The Dealer’s Choice Mix event yielded four-figure prizes for the top four finishers.
Noah Carlson finished atop the field, securing the first-place payday of $3,972.
No Checking NLH $200 Buy-in (February 3)
Shizai Chu bet and raised his way to the championship in the No Checking NLH event, taking home the $5,472 first-place payday.
Caitlin Comeskey (2nd – $3,393) and Blake McLendon (3rd – $2,389) rounded out the top three.
Blood River $100 Buy-in (February 4)
The Blood River tournament rounded out the Wacky Weekend of Poker schedule at the Lodge, with 149 players competing for $11,324 in prize money.
Jonathan Dull (1st – $2,624), Daniel Saczyk (2nd – $2,362) and Linoy Mathen (3rd – $1,805) took down the top three payout spots.
